Why Seek an ADHD Evaluation?
ADHD evaluations are essential for understanding the root causes of various cognitive and emotional challenges. Whether you're seeking a first-time assessment, a second opinion, or a re-evaluation, a comprehensive ADHD assessment can provide clarity. This can be particularly important for those who may feel their struggles are due to "laziness" or a lack of effort, when in reality, ADHD could be the underlying cause.
An ADHD diagnosis can also open doors to necessary accommodations in educational and work settings and inform decisions about treatment options, including whether to consider medication.
The Value of an ADHD Evaluation
An ADHD evaluation not only helps confirm or rule out a diagnosis but also provides a deeper understanding of the challenges you or your child are facing. The evaluation process is thorough, utilizing a variety of standardized, culturally responsive, and neuroaffirming assessments. The goal is to offer a holistic view that considers all aspects of your cognitive and emotional functioning.
What to Expect During an ADHD Evaluation
The ADHD evaluation process begins with reaching out, from there, the process typically includes:

- During this time I am collecting, compiling, and analyzing all the assessments that you have done over the course of the evaluation and creating a base report.
4. Feedback Session:
- A feedback appointment will be scheduled 2-3 weeks after assessment day to discuss the results and next steps. If assessments have not been returned at least 3 days prior to scheduled session, session may be pushed back.
- A feedback session will be scheduled to go over the assessment scores and findings. As well to go over any recommendations and questions.
5. Final Report:
- The finalized report, including any recommendations and referrals, will be provided within a month of the feedback session.

You're correct that I am currently an Associate Therapist licensed in California. I have undergone specialized training that allows me to conduct ADHD evaluations. However, there are a few limitations due to my licensure level. For example, I am not able to diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorders or conduct Cognitive Assessments like IQ testing. If your evaluation indicates signs of Autism or another condition, I will provide referrals and recommendations to guide you on the next steps.
As an Associate, all reports are reviewed and signed off by my supervisor. The publishers of the assessments I use determine the required education level and training necessary to administer and interpret these tests. With my current qualifications, I am fully capable of conducting ADHD evaluations. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask!
