About Me
Caitlin Skorupski
Hello, my name is Caitlin! I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#137284). My area of focus is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Theories, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). With a focus on adolescents/teenagers (13-17), I address a spectrum of issues including complex and childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic illness.
My journey in mental health began with Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) supporting adolescents on the Autism Spectrum. I transitioned into residential and outpatient settings, where I worked closely with higher-need adolescents (11-17) and adults. My experience extends to school-based settings, aiding adolescents and their families before embarking on private practice.
Personally, I navigate life with the assistance of a service dog, which grants me a unique perspective on the challenges of chronic illness and pain. Along with my past experiences, my personal insight fuels my empathy and understanding, enabling me to connect deeply with my clients and guide them toward healing with compassion. I believe in empowering clients to recognize that their traumas do not define them.
Education
I received my Masters in Marital and Family Therapy from Alliant International University and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University Los Angeles. In addition to my degrees, I have completed training for EMDR to further my trauma-focused approach to therapy.
